“As an elementary school teacher with over a decade of experience, it became apparent to me immediately that Coach Kirby is a natural born teacher. If you have the chance to participate in or even observe any of his classes, you will see a master teacher at work.”

 Beacon Mixed Martial Arts

Exploring human potential through the physical & mental rigors of combat sports since 2016

Whether you’re new to combat sports or a life-long student of the game, Beacon MMA and our staff of professional martial artists can help you explore and eventually smash through the limits of your potential.

Beacon Mixed Martial Arts is one of the leading MMA academies in the Philadelphia tri-state area, which in and of itself is a spectacular feat given the rich martial arts history in the City of Brotherly Love. Though our world-class staff has trained some of the most exciting fighters to ever come out of Philly, what we’re most proud of are the thousands of hard-working and dedicated students who consider our mats home.

Already one of the fastest growing academies in the northeast, we’ve set our sights on North Carolina to open our first affiliate academy. A proud member of Master Roberto Godoi’s G13 BJJ association, with 100+ academies worldwide, we are just 30 minutes away from our brand new North American headquarters led by Master Godoi himself, granting our Chapel Hill members unprecedented access to a wealth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu knowledge forged over a generation of competing at the highest level.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has long since lost its “secret weapon” status with academies popping up all over the world. Here in the United States, the level of talent now rivals that of the art’s home nation of Brazil. However, quality Muay Thai instruction is still a bit of a rarity. But now that the International Olympic Committee has granting Muay Thai provisional recognition as an Olympic sport, that may change in the next few years. Of course, we were ahead of the curve, having already produced multiple WKA US national champions through our proven striking program.
