Coach Kirby spent nearly a decade helping Head Coach, Bob Peach, grow Beacon MMA HQ into one of the biggest academies in the Philadelphia area. In that time, Beacon MMA won several WKA US national titles in Muay Thai, won several amateur and professional MMA titles, sent a couple fighters up to the big show to compete in the UFC’s Contender Series, and awarded its first two Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts. Today, Beacon MMA remains a powerhouse in the South Jersey MMA scene as it forges ahead in a new area of growth - its first affiliate academy, located in beautiful Chapel Hill, NC.

Master Roberto Godoi is one of the most respected names in in our sport. His brand of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seamlessly blends the old with the new. With over 100 affiliate academies worldwide, Master Godoi looks to lay down some serious roots in North America. Beacon Mixed Martial Arts was actually the first American G13 BJJ affiliate, so it seems fitting that Coach Kirby open Beacon MMA/G13 BJJ Chapel Hill not far from our brand new US headquarters in Cary. Within a year of opening, G13 BJJ’s foothold in the Carolinas is off to a promising start, with even more affiliate academies on the horizon.
