Meet the Coaching Staff: Why Beacon’s Team Is Different

The quality of instruction is what separates a good gym from a great one. Here’s a quick look at the people who teach at Beacon MMA.

Kirby Farrales leads the academy. He holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the G13 association and has decades of experience in Muay Thai and traditional martial arts. His background in education shapes how he teaches—clear, structured, and focused on making complex ideas understandable.

Coach Chela Tu is our first female black belt. She has been with the gym since the beginning and brings both high-level technique and a calm, consistent presence to the noon classes and beyond.

Kelsi Kazmierczak combines competition experience in Muay Thai with her background as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She coaches striking, grappling, and the CAP program, and she understands both the athletic and recovery sides of training.

The rest of the staff—including coaches who help with kids classes, strength and conditioning, and daily training—share the same standards: technical accuracy, positive atmosphere, and genuine care for student progress.

What ties the team together is a focus on teaching well rather than just demonstrating. Whether you’re brand new or preparing to compete, the coaches meet you where you are and help you improve.

Come train with us and see the difference for yourself.
