Michael Terani Dominates at WKA Nationals

This past weekend, Beacon Mixed Martial Arts had an incredible showing at the WKA National Championships — and our Chapel Hill team made a statement on the national stage as Michael Terani joined Coach Kelsi as one of the WKA National Champions training on our mats.

Chapel Hill MMA Steps Up

Representing our Chapel Hill location, Michael Terani delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend. Facing a stacked bracket, Mike’s conditioning, composure, and coachability were the keys to his success in the ring, ultimately dominating his division. His performance is proof that the work being put in on our mats in Chapel Hill is producing high-level results.

Though combat sports is an individual endeavor, success is built in the gym as a team. Gavin Hughes went through the same rigorous fight camp alongside Mike, honing his skills and conditioning for the big stage. Competing at WKA Nationals for only the second time, Gavin lost a decision to a tough opponent from a tough gym.

Beacon HQ Highlights

Beacon HQ brought two new competitors who impressed in their national debuts, showing incredible potential for the future. And once again, Coach Voshon Mack proved his championship pedigree, bringing home his 4th WKA National Championship title.

Back on the Grind

It was an unforgettable weekend, but the work doesn’t stop here. Our team is already back on the mats in Chapel Hill, training with the same focus and intensity that brought success at Nationals.

At Beacon MMA, success is built day by day — and this is just the beginning.
