2025 was a landmark year for Beacon Mixed Martial Arts. We opened our doors in Chapel Hill in 2021 and spent the next few years growing steadily. This year we took the biggest steps yet.
We moved into our new facility at 50051 Governors Drive—more than double the mat space of our previous location, with locker rooms, showers, a proper lobby, and an on-site physical therapy clinic. The move let us finally train the way we always wanted to: more people, better conditions, and room to grow.
We were voted Best of Chapel Hill for the third year in a row. That recognition belongs to every student, parent, and coach who has trained here. It reflects the standard we hold ourselves to every class.
On the competition side, our adult team earned back-to-back team titles early in the year. Later, we had a strong showing at Tap Cancer Out in Raleigh and sent athletes to the WKA National Championships, where Michael Terani became a national champion. First-time competitors medaled, and our youth team continued to improve.
We also launched the Combat Athlete Performance (CAP) program and opened Beacon Physical Therapy & Performance inside the gym. Both give members structured strength and conditioning plus access to physical therapists who understand combat sports.
None of this happens without the people who show up. Thank you for training with us, bringing your kids, competing, and helping us build something that feels like a real community. Here’s to an even stronger 2026.
