“My 7 year old boy/girl twins absolutely love their Jiu-Jitsu classes with Kirby. They learn so much at every class - not just the very practical physical skills of Jiu-Jitsu, but also the respect and discipline that comes with the practice. I highly recommend Beacon Mixed Martial Arts!”

The Beacon MMA Difference
-
Our staff is entirely comprised of adults. Many of our competitors rely on the teens and college kids among their ranks… not that that’s inherently bad, but they’re still students themselves. Our staff members are professional educators and professional martial artists - masters of their craft and single-minded in their lifelong pursuits to develop our young athletes.
-
It’s not uncommon for children to go without much guidance or structure during those long summer months. Summer camps, historically, have been a great way to make sure children have “adult” supervision.
We go above and beyond that by teaching our campers a life skill through a lifestyle. We take our summers seriously, so your child can hit the ground running when the next school year starts.
-
Supercharge your child’s summer with all the same benefits our Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program offers year-round.
We believe BJJ is an essential tool that every child should have in their tool belt to confidently and non-violently resolve conflict.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes will be offered during our morning session.
-
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and a future Olympic sport. Over the last 30 years, it has emerged as the ideal complementary art to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by most modern mixed martial artists.
Muay Thai is as challenging as it is fun for our young athletes, and a great way to improve coordination, motor skills, strength, flexibility, and above all else - focus.
Muay Thai Kickboxing will be offered during our afternoon session.
We expect a lot of our young athletes, so they learn to expect a lot of themselves.
We treat even our youngest athletes like young adults, because that’s what they are. In fact, unlike nearly every other martial arts school, we don’t even have a kids-specific curriculum.
This training methodology naturally extends into our summer camps, where we focus on healthy habits like reading and exercise to coincide with our world-class martial arts program. It is further reinforced daily in our morning and afternoon meetings where we discuss topics like leadership, accountability, & compassion and how they translate into success.
Coach Taylor
Along with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing, we are committed to your child’s educational development on and off the mats. In keeping with that commitment, joining Coach Kirby on staff is Ms. Taylor Dunham. In addition to being a teacher in Chatham County, Coach Taylor is also a Beacon MMA athlete in our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program
We are proud to offer a professional educator of her caliber as an additional resource to your child’s success.
