Back-to-Back Team Titles

Just tow months ago, we won our first team title at the Raleigh Winter Championship. This past weekend, we took a similarly small team to Wilmington, NC to compete at the Fuji Spring Championship and this time with only 10 adult competitors, we were able to secure another 2nd place adult team title, falling short by only a 100+ points from 1st place. The team that took 1st place had substantially more competitors, making this a huge accomplishment for fielding such a small team.

There are a couple more tournaments we’ll be competing in this summer, so there’s plenty of time to contribute to our competition team. As they say, iron sharpens iron. There are few instances where this is more true than on the mats. Remember, you don’t have to compete to contribute. Just continue coming to classes regularly, be good training partners by training hard and keeping your teammates safe, help keep your teammates accountable, and roll with a purpose.

We will be announcing the list of upcoming tournaments that our coaching staff can commit to in the coming weeks. In the meantime, congratulations to you all. Jiu-Jitsu is as much a team sport as it is an individual pursuit, so everyone is responsible for this achievement! Onward and upward!
